No Fear
By Larry White  Dec.16,1992

There is a passage in the scriptures that is fairly famous and is a great comfort to the children of God.
In the KJV it reads:

Heb.13:5-6
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” So that we may boldly say, “The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”

This is a quote from Deut.31:6

“Be strong and bold! Do not fear or tremble before them, for the LORD your God is the one who is going with you. He will not fail you or abandon you!"

The New English Translation of Heb.13:5-6 reads:

Your conduct must be free from the love of money and you must be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you and I will never abandon you.” So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”

The literal translation of the Greek is stronger still:

“In no wise will I leave you, neither, not in anyway will I abandon you.”

Psa.46:1-3
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the middle of the sea; Though the waters of it roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling of it.
Selah.

Psa.56:3-4
What time I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

The ocean waves of temptations and trials can threaten to overwhelm us, and in fear we may look this way and that over our circumstances and hardships. But if we, like Peter, set our eyes on Jesus, the only one that can help, He can lift us out of the angry waves and set our feet upon a solid rock, which is our confidence in Him. That rock is himself; his love and his steadfast and unchangeable faithfulness to us.

God will never, in no way, ever leave you; nor will he never, ever, in any way forsake or abandon you.

If you are fearful and doubting – then pray to him, confessing your sins and place your whole life, your every concern completely into his hands. Rest in his protection and strength and joy and hope will dawn again in your heart.

If you don’t know that peace now then make it right with God. Humble yourself and draw near to him.
